 Greenoaks Dundee came to Heath as a three year old and it was an amazing co-incidence that he was by Duntroon.

Duntroon was actually bred by another Australian, Ed Richards, who has over the years worked very closely with Heath. So  much so that Heath was commisioned by Ed to purchase a broodmare in Germany which turned out to be the mare Pik Stahl which in turn became the dam of Duntroon. Duntroon is a result of Pik Stahl being put to the stallion and the Olympic Gold Medalist Donnerhall. Duntroon then went on to win the Stallion Licencing Testings in Oldenburg for the Oldenburg Verband. This is a very big deal. So in a sort of a way Heath felt responsible for the production of Duntroon and it was a wonderful thing to have Greenoaks Dundee appear down here in the Southern Hemisphere at the age of three with another Australian owner.

Dundee was a really nice young horse but did tend to run second to his stablemate Greenoaks Legend also owned by Clyde, in the lower grades and who was an amazing moving animal. However, once moving in to the Grand Prix arena Dundee started to shine. Dundee had really good Piaffe and Passage and so few horses anywhere in the world can actually get a handle on these movements. We promote the statistic that only 6% of horses in the world are capable of performing at Grand Prix level. Well, Dundee was one of those very rare horses who embraced Grand Prix with enthusiasm and talent. Dundee was a magnificent horse and represented Australia at the 2008 Bejing Olympics with Heath in the saddle and Clyde attending in all his glory as an owner. Interestingly enough in the Ryans broodmare herd there is a Regardez Moi mare called Rumba which goes directly back to Duntroon and is producing sensational progeny. Dundee was a real Australian Olympian and is remembered with great fondness by Heath and Rozzie.
